life is a revolving door

Its been a super long time since i've actually wrote anything i hope i can remember.  Of course everybody's older....My two oldest kids are graduating this year..hard to believe I know.  I also have 2 nephews graduating too.  Hopefully they all won't be on the same weekend so we can attend all of them.  Kids grow up way too fast.  I know that is such a cliche but its true.  Its always true.  You have to let your kids grow up and find their ways in the world but its hard to do.  You want them to be around you always and that way you know their safe and sound.  Growing up is so hard to do for kids and their parents...

Work went awesome today.  I laughed so much it should be illegal.  I love being able to act like a goofball and get paid do it.

Sometimes you just have to keep on trucking you know...

I have watched a lot of good movies lately.  Still playing XBOX pretty much everyday, especially on my days off.  I did start working out again.  I have a goal of being able to start running again before my 40th birthday this year...(sighs)  so tomorrow is my workout day.  It does feel good to have to blood pumping and the sweat pouring from my brow tho right now it doesn't really take that much since I'm so outta shape.

Things I watched on TV tonight after I got home from a fun night at work. I cracked myself up and made other people laugh. Its actually gives one a rather good feeling.

anyway back to original thought the TV I watched.....A movie-TAKEN-with Liam Neeson(2008). It was very good. My husband and I both enjoyed it.

Then we watched the last 45 minutes of Ice Age 3. Hilarious is all I have to say about that.

attack of the sleepy-eyed zombie

Its around 430 in the morning and its obvious that I can't sleep. For some strange reason I got bitten by the cleaning bug so I decided to run with it. One never knows when its going to hit so I take advantage because I do all that tedious cleaning that should be done ever so often anyways but never gets done. Maybe its that spring cleaning thing. It also didn't help that our dog Duchess was snoring louder than my husband Rob usually does and since she is a 90lb Mastiff its not like I can tell her to roll over or even roll her over myself. But I digress.......what really sucks about not being able to sleep is the fact that I have to work tomorrow at 1230. Either I will make it or I won't.

My son Isaac finally got his driver's permit. I am looking forward to teaching him how to drive. I'm so proud of him. He always worry's about passing any kind of test that he has but I just reming him that he gets straight A's and he will do just fine. And of course he does every time. He takes after me in that regard. He is a great kid. Actually all 3 of my kids are great. I don't know how I got so lucky.

Last night I got to talk to my good friend "R" that I haven't spoken to for a long while. Well, I can't ever remember the last time we chatted. It was good to get back into touch with him, he was a riot to hang out with. He even invited the hubby and I to come over for a visit after I get off work tomorrow(actually later today). I am looking forward to because its been awhile since we've hung out with friends closer to my age. My friend Summer from work came over last friday and we played "kings" the drinking game which my hubby won of course. I took a couple of shots of jaggermiester and that was it for me. I'm just not that into drinking anymore. I guess its because I'm older and getting drunk and feeling like crap the next day just isn't my idea of fun anymore. But ehh, whaddya gonna do peer pressure sucks...lol

Just having a little fun on neopets. Supposedly I'm like the Air Fairie....which is i guess could be kind of true....sometimes it takes a little time for things to land.

Isaac is finally playing Modern Warfare 2 online. He can't have his X-box online at his dad's house but we have ours online so he plays here. He has been playing since aound 5 this afternoon and he is on Level 13 so far. I played him in a private match and he kicked my butt. I played Elijah and I beat him once and that was the end of my winning streak. They really like playing the game and so do I. Ok. Elijah just walked in and he says I didn't beat him....I am starting to see a rematch in the not so distant future....stay tuned for more developments...

Just a quick update.....Duchess our 6 month old mastiff puppy is now 62.5 lbs. Pepper our 4 yr old husky mix is only 54.5 lbs. She has started to chance him around the yard now instead of the other way around.

Hubby went and got the new call of duty game modern warfare 2. Its really cool and no, i havent played it cause I don't even try. I just like watching the hubby and my 2 boys play it. I think the graphics are awesome, and the maps are way more involved than in the last one. I will tell you that the online play is harder (to me anyways) than the 1st game. Which is good, it intensifies the game. My oldest son Isaac is dying to play it but he has to wait until the next weekend to play it because we have it here and he doesn't have one at his Dad's house. I was thinking to taking the game up to him so he can start playing it. I know he is going to love it.

In family news.....I found out last week that my eldest sister Lori is back in jail. Yeah I said jail. She has been back in since September. A friend of hers called me. I guess she said something to him about calling me when he went to go see her. I can't blame her for not thinking of it sooner. She has a lot of difficulty in the mental area. And I'm not sure if she will ever get better. I keep thinking that if she lived up here closer to us we could help her more and make sure she does everything that she can to get herself better. She really doesn't have a support system where she is because her family-meaning me and our 2 other sisters-are all up here in ohio. Anyways, I found the # for where she is so I'm gonna call it to see how I can write to her. So I can let her know that we love her and are here for her when she is ready to need to us. I hope.

Oh yeah, My eldest son, Isaac got a 4.0 gpa on his report card. I'm so proud of him. I knew he could do it.

things are moving fast

Hey everyone. Just sitting here at home watching another episode of Law & Order criminal intent. Very good show. The season premieres of House and Heroes was absolutely entertainment at its best. I also watched the new show Eastwick and The Good Wife i enjoyed both of those which I know that one of them or both won't make it. You get hooked on a show and then they pull it. There are so many shows that I like and with my work schedule thank god for the DVR.

Our new mastiff puppy "Duchess" is doing great. She is 5 months old and she is almost bigger than our 4 yr old Husky mix "Pepper". It so funny watching them play together. Our 2 kitties chewy and fuzzy love her too. They will cuddle right up with her and sleep. They play with her tail and she just ignores them.

We did get the new Halo ODST game for xbox when it came out. Its a pretty cool game. I don't play them much anymore because it just hurts my hands too much. Hubby and my 2 teenage boys like playing it. I just watch and read my books.

I read The Time Travelers Wife it was very very good. It was hard to put it down, you want read more and more but Alas! one does have to sleep sometime. Speaking of sleepy Hubby is past out in his recliner. He is still in a lot of pain from his neck surgery its hard to sleep in the bed.

I think I might take a nap today. I don't work again until the morrow.

This is Duchess, an English Mastiff. She is the newest addition to our family. We got her from a breeder in Tennessee and she has been absolutely wonderful to have. She is very lovable as you can tell from the picture. She is 3.5 months old and weighs 35 lbs. Our other dog Pepper, a husky mix is 4 yrs old and weighs 50 lbs. So pretty soon she will weigh more than him. They get along great and the kitty cats are warming up to her especially Chewy.

Sunday, August 02, 2009

well, the magellan name for one of my new kitty cats didn't stick. We finally came up with Chewy and Fuzzy and they suit them very well.

We took the kids to the Newport Aquarium today. It was fun. I got some good pictures of some of the underwater dwelling creatures. I will post them to flickr later if I can figure out how to get them off of the camera to the computer. Usually my hubby does it but he is asleep because he has to make the long trip back to Tennessee to take his nieces back home. They start school on the 7th. It was fun having 5 teenagers in the house. I think we spent more on food the last week and a half than Rob and I have in the last 6 months. OMG they can eat and I don't know where they put it.

I'm going to finally get to see my baby sister Julie on the 6th. We haven't seen each other in I know its been at least 4 years. The crazy thing about it is that we don't live that far apart. Maybe 2 hours. Its just been hard to keep in touch. With our lives having been really crazy the last couple of years with having to move every 6 months and just trying to keep our heads above water. Things are definitely alot better now. Having lived with some kind of family the last year and a half when you finally get the privacy that you need it just feels strange just being "us" again. Oh don't worry I'm not complaining just have to get used to it.

My vacation from work started yesterday and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. I'm going to try to keep myself busy so I don't get bored though. Because last year when I went on my vacation after the 2nd day I was so bored I could barely stand it. Rob says I get like that because I'm a workaholic which I think is true. Even when I'm not at work I will call to make sure everything went okay especially if I closed the night before. I work for one of my local Krogers in customer service and I just love it. But at the end of this vacation they are moving me to another store. I don't know yet if it is temporary or permanent and I'm not sure which one I want it to be. I will need some time working at the new one to decide. It will be a slightly weird transition but I do make friends quite easily though and I definitely think that helps. I will certainly miss all my friends at my "old" store but I will see them from time to time. Especially My Summer, she is a great girl and we are really good friends. She does start college in about a month so we are going to have a party at the house before she goes. I will miss seeing her almost everyday but I know she will have fun and make some new friends at school.

Tomorrow is Rob and I's 8th wedding anniversary and He is going to be traveling. We were really looking forward to it this year because the last 2 anniversaries have sucked. Two years ago Rob had the accident and last year we had no means of celebrating.

We've been married for 8 years, together for 9 and in love for 10. It still feels like the it was just yesterday we told each other how we felt. He is the part of me that I was always missing. I was thinking the other night that with all the bad things thats has happened in my life that I just wasn't lucky but then I realized that I'm married to the love of my life, my kids are just the most awesome kids ever, and I'm finally back in touch with all my sisters. How much more luck does one person need?. I guess I needed to go through all that I did to make me see that the being lucky depends on whether you appreciate having what you need in your life and not just want you want. To me that is....

My Urban Jungle.

We went to the animal shelter and and got 2 new kitties. They are both orange tiger tabby. I just can't think of names for the them. I've always been able to pick out names for my cats, but this time they aren't coming to me. oooo.´®ΩuyzzzzzzzzzzzB V1BV ÏRD/T the following message brought to you by "Magellan" I finally came up with a name for one of our new kitties. Now I just have to think of one more. Oh and the reason behind Magellan is the fact that he just explores everything and very mischievous. It will suit him very much.

new new new

Well, we are finally back living in our own place again..thank god!! Its been a long time coming and I can say that it was worth the wait but the wait was the worse.

Everything is much better now.

We finally got a Macbook Pro and we absolutely LOVE IT!!!!! It has awesome features that I just love and I haven't even really messed with it yet. I do like the Garage Band program and so does my youngest son who is 14 now. We also got a PS3 and its fabulous and of course the boys love it. The X-box has nothing on it and we have one of those also.

We still have our doggy Pepper.

We have a new ride too. Its a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. It has awesome features and rides great and does good on gas too. It has plenty of room for the all 5 of us and the dog. Its great on trips too. Last week Rob had to run down to Kentucky to get my sister Lori and bring her up her because we had an Aunt pass away and she needed to say her goodbyes too so Rob jumped in the car and 12 hours later was back with her in tow.

I am still working at a major grocery chain and I love it. I went through the training to become an Asst. Customer Service Manager and passed with flying colors. Now am I just waiting for my promotion to go through which hopefully will be soon because I've pretty much been doing the job for the last year or so.

I am sure I will start posting more often now that I have the means too.

I finally made it back....

well, here I am. I finally made it back to the blogging world. It only took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get logged in with the new google log in....I will say that after being offline and not on a computer since Aug of '07 one does lose the ability to remember on how to use this complicated piece of technological machinery. Anyways, there has been so many things happening since then I don't know where to begin. So here goes nothing....

The day before Hubby and I's 6th anniversary he was in a car accident which totalled my car. Some 'idiot' and i say that as nicely as I can at this point decided he couldn't wait ten more seconds to turn left and hubby ended up hitting the front right side of the guys' pickup truck. The impact flipped the truck on its side and the car went in and under the truck. My hubby was injured to the point that 4 of the disks in his cervical spine were compressing on his spinal cord, which left him with loss of strength of 40% in all 4 of his limbs, numbness and constant tingling. He ended up having to have surgery on his neck-front and back-which bone had to be removed along with 2 disks, and titanium plates and screws and bone grafts to stabilize his neck to the point that no more compressing of the spinal cord would take place. The pain that he is in very unimaginable. He can no longer move his neck at all and reguires assistance when walking, bathing, eating, etc. It has been very hard to all take in and deal with but I will do whatever I have to care for him because he is my Husband and the Love of my Life. So for him I will be strong but I am not going to lie, somedays I cry on the inside.
His neurosurgeon told us that without the surgery he would be paralyzed within 5 years. Which of course scared me to death because who would want that for the one the loved so dearly.
After being home from the surgery he ended up the pneumonia and the incision from the surgery became infected and now he is back in the hospital. They are going to give him IV antibiotics and if that doesn't work they may have to open him back up and clean everything out.

On a lighter note, I finally got out of the fast food business and I got a job at a local supermarket working in the office. I very much like it a lot better. Its a pretty easy job and I get paid a decent wage.

So other than Hubby being hurt, everything was going pretty well. I like to hope that things will get better down the road because they couln't get much worse.

a quiet moment

the faintest of glimmers,
silver, sparkling, a warm glow
ignited by a moment, rare
tucked inside, the blind emotional soul
in fear of waging a lustful hope.
captivating heart, to much a care.
an ember ignites, extinguishes another.

circus, circus

Ella Fint wore a dark gray suit today, and
what a drab color, indeed
No hats, flashing lights or colorful beads.
For the circus left town yesterday.

and a few more....but funnier this time

here in this chair, I do sit
fixing to have a fit,
because of this guy, who's on the sly,
because he doesn't need to know all my shit.

a few words....

Shadows fall and shadows rise
and cross our paths all thru our lives.
they dance across our memories
shades of rosy glass flash o'er the eyes,
locks of fall brown flow round
and caress her cheeks.
Soft and smooth, as your sword upon her face.
Its the chase of the thrill, the seek of the find,
the way.

I'm still here. I haven't really gone anywhere except the usual places within myself. Slowly I am starting to lurk around the corner to see what else is out there......

Halfway to 35

I snapped this picture myself with my new camera. Its a Sony Cybershot and I'm really liking it so far. It has a lot of features it will take my years to learn, I'm sure. Hubby got it last week by my powers of persuasive persuasion. Whenever He and I would be out and about I would always see something. I can't really describe what I would feel when I would see "it" but I would want to capture the moment but alas! I could not for no camera I had. So what does he do? Last week he bought me a camera. And I very good camera at that. So tonight I have already taken 100 pictures. Lots of close ups of myself, and normal every day objects.
