well, here I am. I finally made it back to the blogging world. It only took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get logged in with the new google log in....I will say that after being offline and not on a computer since Aug of '07 one does lose the ability to remember on how to use this complicated piece of technological machinery. Anyways, there has been so many things happening since then I don't know where to begin. So here goes nothing....
The day before Hubby and I's 6th anniversary he was in a car accident which totalled my car. Some 'idiot' and i say that as nicely as I can at this point decided he couldn't wait ten more seconds to turn left and hubby ended up hitting the front right side of the guys' pickup truck. The impact flipped the truck on its side and the car went in and under the truck. My hubby was injured to the point that 4 of the disks in his cervical spine were compressing on his spinal cord, which left him with loss of strength of 40% in all 4 of his limbs, numbness and constant tingling. He ended up having to have surgery on his neck-front and back-which bone had to be removed along with 2 disks, and titanium plates and screws and bone grafts to stabilize his neck to the point that no more compressing of the spinal cord would take place. The pain that he is in very unimaginable. He can no longer move his neck at all and reguires assistance when walking, bathing, eating, etc. It has been very hard to all take in and deal with but I will do whatever I have to care for him because he is my Husband and the Love of my Life. So for him I will be strong but I am not going to lie, somedays I cry on the inside.
His neurosurgeon told us that without the surgery he would be paralyzed within 5 years. Which of course scared me to death because who would want that for the one the loved so dearly.
After being home from the surgery he ended up the pneumonia and the incision from the surgery became infected and now he is back in the hospital. They are going to give him IV antibiotics and if that doesn't work they may have to open him back up and clean everything out.
On a lighter note, I finally got out of the fast food business and I got a job at a local supermarket working in the office. I very much like it a lot better. Its a pretty easy job and I get paid a decent wage.
So other than Hubby being hurt, everything was going pretty well. I like to hope that things will get better down the road because they couln't get much worse.
